bowl bank is coming to an end

since launching bowl bank thousands of you have returned your bowls to our restaurants to make sure they were properly recycled. we're incredibly grateful for everyone who took part. but we want to let you know, that from 1 april 2026, bowl bank will be coming to an end


we introduced bowl bank at a time when recycling at home wasn't available everywhere in the uk. but thanks to the simpler recycling reforms introduced by the uk government on 1 of april, in england our bowls will be easier to recycle than ever before. this means you no longer need to return bowls to restaurant - you can recycle them easily yourself at home 

what to do from the 1 april

  • empty any leftovers into your food waste bin (or keep in the fridge for later)

  • give the bowl a quick rinse

  • place it in your at home mixed recycling bin


bowl bank helped us bridge the gap while home recycling options were less consistent. now that recycling is becoming simpler and more widely available, the next step is making it easier for everyone to do the right thing

terms + conditions

  • wagamama bowl bank initiative. running from 10 may 2022 until 1 april 2026

  • the promoter of this initiative is wagamama limited (company number 02605751) with its registered address at 5-7 marshalsea road, london, se1 1ep (“we”, “our”, “us”, or “wagamama”).

  • vouchers cannot be exchanged for monetary value

  • wagamama reserves the right to remove or amend this offer at any time

how to claim your voucher:

  • to be eligible, participants must bring their wagamama takeout bowls to participating wagamama restaurants. delivery kitchens + airport restaurants are excluded from the offer. the offer is only valid in the uk, excluding northern ireland

  • wagamama takeout bowls must be clean; no dirty bowls will be accepted

  • you must physically hand over your takeout bowls to a team member at a participating restaurant. your bowls will be exchanged for a voucher

  • you will be able to claim one voucher per person each time you return your takeout bowls. there is no limit on the number of bowls you can submit in a single return, but you are limited to one voucher per return regardless of the number of bowls

  • each voucher offers you one free shareable on your next dine-in visit at a participating wagamama restaurant with a purchase of an adult main meal

  • the voucher is valid for one month only
